It's prime apple time in the Upstate of South Carolina, where Greenville is located. Although some apples are available in late August and September, the cooler temperatures and changing leaf colors of early October make me think of crisp apples, wam apple cider, and apple cider donuts, all of which are available in nearby apple orchards, as well as some that are only about an hour away, in western North Carolina.
Perdeaux Fruit Farm in Tigerville, is probably the closest apple orchard to Greenville. They grow several varieities of apples, including the popular Honeycrisp, along with some very different Asian pears and other fruits. If you are in the area, you can stop by and get a sample of their delcious fresh-pressed cider, as well.
Skytop Orchard, near Flat Rock, SC, is hugely popular with families. They offer Pick-Your-Own as well as already picked apples, animals, hayrides, and a nature trail for the kids, delcious cider and apple cider donuts (Yum! Wish I had some now), and mountain views.
No matter where in the Greenville area you go to get your apple fix, they will be crisp, fresh, and delicious!

"Working with Gene Donohue was fun and non-stressful. He came highly recommended and he was very flexible and knowledgeable. Gene guided us through the entire purchasing process from looking at the property to closing on the house as efficiently as possible. He provided his personal insights on issues and helped in the negotiations. His positive attitude and patience with us was something I really appreciated as well. I felt like he went the extra mile for me and would definitely refer Gene to anyone. Thanks Gene. "
